Birch Sweet (True) Wild Harvest Essential Oil

$9.95
Size:

Botanical name Betula alleghaniensis/Wild Harvest/Canada

Invigorating and refreshing often used in massage formulations. True Birch distilled totally from wild harvested birch. Believed to be the only authentic birch oil produced on the market today. Quite a bit more complex than the typical commercial "birch oil" on the market and has a nice light green color to it. The quality of this oil is quite amazing. The distinct, energetic scent of true Birch Essential Oil is due to its trace components.
Genuine Sweet Birch Essential Oil, which has historically been produced in the USA and Europe, has become scarce over time. Ernest Guenther's six volume classic Essential Oils provides a wonderful and comprehensive account of the Sweet Birch distillation techniques still used by a distiller in New York who is keeping the tradition alive. Methyl salicyclatate is the main component of Sweet Birch Oil, accounting for more than 98%, but its synthetic production utilizing low-cost processes has largely replaced the oil.

In Massage oil formulations, Birch Sweet (True) Wild Harvest Essential Oil can be applied to areas of muscular aches and pains. However, it should not be used directly on the skin in its undiluted form. Avoid when pregnant, nursing and with babies and children. A known Skin irritant.
