Lavender has been used since the time of the the ancient Romans in soaps,
perfumes, powders and pillows. Lavender essential oil is used to treat
inflammation, sunburn, respiratory problems and headaches. The essential
oil of lavender is soothing, cleansing and refreshening!!!
1/4 cup oak moss 4 drops lavender oil 4 drops rose oil 1/2 cup chamomile flowers 3/4 cup lavender buds 1/2 cup hops Mix and pour into an open bowl. Set it in the bedroom! Lavender Face Powder
You can create this delicately scented face powder to control shine and
promote even skin color. Just add two drops of lavender essential oil to
one fourth cup rice flour(grocery store) and mix together thoroughly. Find
a small decorative container and place the face powder in it. Apply with a
sponge or puff as desired!!!!!!!! Yes......I have made this and Yes.....it
feels and smells wonderful!!!
Fragrant Sheaves
Scent and beautify your home with sheaves of dried lavender. Select fresh
lavender with blossom heads that are not fully opened. Gather bunches
together and wrap a rubber band around the stems, then tie raffia around the
rubber band. Hang them upside down to dry. The color will fade with time,
but the fragrance will last almost indefinitely!!!
Lavender Linen Water
Spray this lavender-scented water on sheets and towels...add it to your
steam iron when you iron your lace doilies(yes,I love lace & don't even mind
ironing the doilies)...or use it as an instant room freshener!!!
Place 15 drops lavender essential oil and one half ounce vodka into a
container. Add one cup distilled water and shake well!!!
Flavored Honey
Use this combination of sweet honey and lavender in place of regular honey
on toast or in cookies, cakes and tea.
Place two cups light honey and one fourth cup lavender flowers in a
saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil, then remove from heat and steep for
thirty minutes. Strain and store in an airtight jar.
Lavender Cookies
Cream two thirds cup minus one tablespoon sugar with one cup unsalted
butter;
Add one beaten egg and blend well.
Stir in one and one fourth cups minus one tablespoon self-rising flour and
one tablespoon edible lavender flowers.
Drop by teaspoon, two inches apart, onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until pale golden brown. Cool
on waxed paper.
Lavender Deodorant Spray
1/4 cup vodka
2 tablespoons witch hazel
10 drops lavender oil
2 drops lemon oil
Combine all ingredients in a spray pump bottle and shake until well mixed.
Shake before using. This recipe makes a pleasant smelling spray that helps
combat underarm odor. Lavender Deodorant Spray is powerful enough for men,
too.
